One thing that I find works in such situations is that the leader should walk the talk. The team leader should demonstrate that he/she is ready to chip in equally and share the workload, thereby leading by example. It is also essential that the team leader remains calm, is understanding, is ready to offer guidance and maintains a positive work environment without coming under pressure so that team members who are already overwhelmed, do not feel further stressed. Open and free flowing conversations also help in keeping the team morale high, improve team bonding and also helps team members share workload as well as stress. Lastly, the team leader should give confidence to the team that he/she has their back whatever the outcome.

When your team is overwhelmed with tasks, it's crucial to manage the workload effectively and ensure that they stay motivated and focused without burning out. I encourage them to focus on a single task before moving to the next, rather than juggling multiple projects simultaneously. Please encourage them to use tools that can automate repetitive tasks or streamline workflow. This helps reduce manual work and keep things organized.

Make sure what is most urgent and important. Use methods like the Eisenhower Matrix to categorize tasks and focus on high-impact work. Ensure tasks are delegated according to skill set and bandwidth. Large tasks can be overwhelming, helping your team break down complex tasks into smaller, manageable pieces with clear milestones. We should set clear, achievable goals and adjust deadlines if necessary. Mistakes or setbacks should be seen as learning opportunities, not failures. By prioritizing tasks, encouraging collaboration, providing support, encouraging open communication and promoting balance, your team can manage their workload without feeling overwhelmed and keep moving toward their goals successfully.

One thing I have found helpful is introducing an "energy matrix" during planning meetings. Instead of merely assigning tasks by priority, we categorized them into "high-energy" and "low-energy" activities. For example, creative brainstorming went into the "high-energy" bucket, while data entry was labeled "low-energy." Team members chose tasks based on their peak energy hours, leading to more efficient outputs and fewer end-of-day slumps. This subtle adjustment in task management had a profound impact on morale and output quality
