Actually I disagree as explaining the process of data analytics may by itself not build trust. The process of data analytics may be overwhelming creating further mistrust. Besides there are limitations to data analytics as biases and errors can creep in. It is important to understand the perspective of the team members as to why they doubt the analytics. Explaining how the new metrics will help measure the performance better and how this is better for them, the organisation and customer will help build trust. It's also important to train the team members so that they develop the ability to appreciate the new metrics better.

Every activity that the team carries need not directly contribute to their goal but may be needed in the overall canvas of the team goal or in fulfilling one or some of the objectives of the enterprise. This aspect should be explained to the team to get their buy in and to enthuse full support.

Yes. The team feedback also should be taken and incorporated whereever it is relevant. Not taking feedback or not allowing merit based evaluation of the feedback will lead to disowning the matrix.
