In my experience, team misalignment often happens when people get stuck in personal perspectives instead of understanding the broader user base. Recorded user sessions and research summaries are powerful tools that cut through individual biases. When team members watch real users struggling or hear direct feedback, it shifts the conversation from "I think" to "Here's what users actually need." These insights create a shared understanding that grounds our work in user reality, not just individual assumptions. By bringing user perspectives front and center, we naturally start pulling in the same direction.

All five fingers of a hand are not of same shape,however, united they help humans to perform different actions. Similarly, alignment in teams for user needs are perspective basis. First thing to identify is how many user needs are relevant to the product's offering and how many are cosmetic. Once these are identified , the teams should brainstorm on the pros and cons of the se user needs. Connecting the dots the needs which help for the growth of the product would be selected and prioritization to be done as per MSCW principle to align to the product goal

I've learned that disagreement often sparks innovation! I start by mapping each team member's perspective on a shared board, highlighting unique insights. Then we collaborate on a "North Star" exercise - visualizing our ideal user's transformed life after using our product. This helps shift discussions from "my view vs. yours" to "how can we best serve our users?" It's amazing how competing ideas often blend into stronger solutions when we anchor them to real user impact.
