"Crossing the Chasm" (Geoffrey Moore) can have many different approaches and is always challenging. My view is that to talk about scalability strategies, you / the team first needs to have evaluated the basic hypotheses to achieve solution/market fit. Having reached this stage, the next step is to look how to get from early adopters (the ones convinced of the benefits of the solution you offer) to early mass market, i.e. crossing the chasm. Aligning the goals in terms of what customer segment(s) shall be targeted to scale and how is key - nevertheless, having thought through more than one option is always advantageous, as the strategy you choose may not be working.
