This helps to prioritize goals and ensure that everyone is aligned. Then, use the data and KPIs to identify areas where cost reductions can be made without compromising quality. Consider implementing lean processes, automating tasks, or outsourcing non-core functions to reduce costs. Finally, establish a continuous improvement

There is four pillars in construction that has to be considered and balanced. Namely, economy, safety, quality, and speed. Although safety should be on top of everything else, one pillar should be thoughtfully considered so as not to cause the other pillars to fail. E.g., quality of course can never be compromised, however, over prioritization of quality may consume budget allocated to safety, and tending to over design is also bad for the project’s economy. Neglect of approved tolerances to ensure that every detail on plans is followed, may slow down the project’s progress. That is why, all the professionals, the project manager, site engineer, QAQC, and safety officers should work hand in hand to maintain the balance of these pillars.

Performing cost-benefit analysis is essential for every company in all phases of construction. May it be from planning, design, construction phase, and close-out. A meticulous project manager should compare the cost to expedite the project vs. its benefit by reducing the overhead costs. This is called crashing of schedule, for resources is not only available in the form of money- but also as a function of time.

Every company and individual should strive to not get left behind. Like how the Nokia CEO ended his speech, “We didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow we failed.” is a powerful quote that reminds us that we are bound to lose if we failed to innovate and move forward. One perfect example of design innovation is the introduction of structural pre-cast members as alternative to conventional bricks and hollow blocks. They require cranes to get installed, but the productivity is superb compared to conventional hollow blocks that can only be stacked 6 times maximum per work day. Encouraging team members to share their ideas is imperative to growth of every company as how this world is not only built by pure hard work, but by the ideas behind them.

Take ideas from all , best ideas are given by team that actually works on the ground. Sometimes you think somebody may not br expert about the matter but that person might give the best idea.

Provide a ‘minimal compliant’ solution. Innovative design and creative construction for sure, but still ‘minimal compliance’ to the specifications is what has been purchased.

Most books of business men and entrepreneurs encourage everyone to take risk and courageous approach towards business. But it may not be the best case in construction. A simple mistake may not only incur monetary losses but may even cost a life, or life of many. A systematic risk management may prevent these disasters from happening and even maximize the benefit from expenditures. An example of simple yet mostly may-not-be noticed risk management is the approval of RFAs (request for approval). The deviation was proposed, and another professional checks and verifies it- the benefit is that the deviation eased the construction methodology, and the risk of deviation was eliminated because it passed through a systematic way of approval.

Business Analyst and Project Managers must carry out effective Risk and Opportunity analysis to evaluate business or project success. This creates a level of confidence for taking decisions for the business and in turn success. Project and business success can not be assured fully even though a Risk assessment carried out at an early stage of the startup, because the scenarios, stakeholders expectations keep on changing with time or even business pathway also needs to be realigned at times. Thus, the important aspect in Risk Assessment is an #Agile mindset and periodic assessment to capture and act on changing business situations to assure the right track.

Start risk management by taking inputs from the lowest level worker. Manager sitting in the office doing risk management is equal to playing vedio game with the life of people.

An important technique to adopt during Stakeholder Engagement is "Brainstorming". Collaborative team efforts to propose and arrive at cost effective alternatives in order to achieve same agreed upon quality standard on the project is a very powerful technique amongst a performing project team. This ensures everyone contributes and the best/cost effective option is adopted.

As an introvert, my key to proper stakeholder management comes from within: to be humble on the outside, but confident on the inside. Humble in a sense of being all-ear, and open minded to all the ideas, requests, and feelings of the stakeholders. Considering all of these into decision making creates a clear and concise goal for the design and construction of the project. The earlier you consider these factors, the better; To be confident on the inside means that I have to motivate myself that there is relevance in my work; and that the end product is really helpful to the community I serve.

Include stakeholder only on required goals,quality and finance . Stakholders should never be included into the process of doing something.

Cheap construction works are often times lacking in quality and quality construction works do not often come cheap. These are just a reality we cannot shy from. While businesses prioritize profit and which must be so to ensure continuity, construction projects must be of quality to last in market business. Each organization should therefore define the business model in the light of providing quality products that are reasonably affordable to their target customers. Practising cost efficiency in line with the business/project object, applying cutting-edge technologies, adequate stakeholder engagement and proper risk management are measures that can enhance the balance between cost and quality.

To balance cost and optimal quality within the team, it is essential to study and understand the details to reach the appropriate stage for expressing opinions. As the decision-maker, I must convince my team of the necessity of following the correct standards. Therefore, I urge adherence to the correct engineering standards within the limits of applying safety and security standards, which in turn, logically and automatically, will lead to controlling positive results in favor of managing appropriate costs within the limits of suitable quality. Additionally, it is important to consider presenting the idea of a challenge to achieve the goal among team members within the framework of cost and quality excellence.
