For a goal reassessment, I would definitely recommend using technology like AI (customized tools) in order to improve the data-analysis and set new, realistic SMART goals. Moreover, where relevant you could run prediction models in order to determine the different outcome of the new strategy, the latter can then be reported to relevant stakeholders.

Una etapa clave y previa que en la mayoría de casos se omite es hacer una análisis de lo que se tiene y de donde se quiere llegar. Este trabajo inicial debe ir acompa?ado de una evaluación del contexto, de los riesgos y oportunidades y de lo realizado. No hay que olvidar que los objetivos se fijan en un momento dado y que en un mundo tan complejo y mutante si olvidamos evaluar de nuevo el contexto, continuaremos fijando objetivos sobre una visión que posiblemente es errónea o incompleta. Sentar objetivos debe contribuir a dise?ar el roadmap pero si no se hace un trabajo preparatorio de análisis el establecimiento de los objetivos SMART será muy posiblemente equivocado.

Unachievable goal setting can happen, when people are actually trying to agree on a vision, but then call it goal. So, maybe there is just a naming issue - that's the first you can reassess. Then there is the unhealthy habit to set slightly unachievable goals to motivate teams to try really hard. You can figure out if that is the case, and then discuss it with your stakeholders. Usually keeping unachievable goals makes all sides unhappy - your team for working to achieve the unachievable, and your stakeholders for not delivering the set goals. Team health is important. So, ensure goals are attainable.

Les politiques de l’entreprise et la gouvernance de celle-ci doivent être alignées avec sa stratégie. Forcément une entreprise qui ne prend pas en compte le contexte dans lequel elle évolue se verra rapidement limitée par des difficultés qui vont appara?tre constamment. Il est donc recommandé de mettre en place au sein de l’entreprise une culture de ??veille?? qui lui permettra d’anticiper et de définir la stratégie de la société pour ensuite établir ses politiques et la manière dont celles-ci seront mises en place, notamment en matière de durabilité.

It forms a fundamental element while forming a sustainable strategy as the rapid developments in the domain are heavily guided by regulatory, but also diverse externalities. Therefore it is essential to develop short, mid and long term goals while keeping the principle of agility. There need to be utmost flexibility to relook at strategies, approaches in periodic manner but also analysing the current and future scenarios. It is for this reason I always argued that we cannot have a five or six year long sustainability strategy as the timeline for forecasting scenarios needs to be kept short and be revisited.

With future forecasting, I would also recommend conducting a legal analysis around the requirements to be complied regarding ESG and sustainability. Taken legal implications into account would ensure you have a strategy which is future proof.

Creo que esto nos pasa a todos. Comenzamos con muchísima fuerza e interés, pero como decimos en Espa?a, adentrarte en tareas de sostenibilidad corporativa te lleva a abrir un melón tras otro. Es como las mu?ecas matrioskas, dentro de una mu?eca te encuentras otra. La separación en "temas" es fundamental y hacerlo desde el primer día es la diferencia entre el desfallecimiento o el éxito. La meta tiene que estar clara y tienes que ser fiel a ella. Eso sí, en el momento en el abres un melón nuevo o una matrioska nueva, para, piensa, analiza y vuelve a planificar.
