People love stories, and narrative is key There is a person like me on the other side. They can be my peer, my colleague, my patient, or their relative. They can be talkative or not, being both complex and complete. They have stories to share because their lives are full of stories - in which a small part is their condition; we try to build empathy with their case, but empathy is built with the person. But what about time? Do we have time for that? Remember that efficiency is not a goal if there is no efficacy: a few minutes of active interest in patients' stories can save dozens of minutes of re-work due to the lack of professional bond. Coping comes out of trust. Thus, teach and train the team about that.
