There are lot of tools of CICD, Configuration management, Infrastructure as code tools which makes the task automated. But you need skills to use this tools.

Best answer is Implementation and Internet. This two things will make you help any tools which contains automation. Even if you learn something by the course or reading some blogs. You can get the theoretical knowledge, but it won't be that much effective as you learn with your Handson. So do not get prepare for the project, get the project and then get prepare while learning and implementing.

Use inheritance of settings and group your devices and services. Start small. Stop doing configuration changes manually . Find something that offers great value with manageable effort, such as basic OS configuration and OS hardening. It's perfectly fine to throw away the beginnings later so that you get and keep maintainable code. If you want to avoid mistakes, look for an experienced IT consultant. He should become superfluous over time.
