Understand what dominant personalities are driven by. Then re-estimate own strengths and powers to gain self-confidence. Use the appropriate language to build rapport and get quick wins by assertiveness and good justifications.

To empoyer my client to shine,I start by acknowledging his own strengths, make him feel confident when dealing with them. Then, acknowledge his weakness and address them . But first , feeling being overshadowed by dominant personnalities shows a low self esteem, I work on that also by figuring out his limiting beliefs and paradigms.

When there is a dominant person that overshadows another, this doesn’t necessarily mean they automatically have more or better input. Go through that with your client. The problem isn’t with the dominant person in this case but maybe with the lack of confidence communication of the client. Also it is important to find the right communication style and language to communicate strongly. There are different way to communicate your ideas in a group that doesn’t have to involve being dominant. Sometimes the silent ones have centre stage when they observed the whole situation first and then all of a sudden speak short and powerfully.
