To convince clients of the value of quality research despite demand for results, offering incremental updates by providing interim findings/progress reports keep clients engaged. This approach shows that work is ongoing, evidencing the quality research to the clients and allows for adjustments based on their insights even before final submissions. This translates into an advertent move to foster a collaborative atmosphere where clients are involved in the research process — most, if not all clients will appreciate this. This inclusion will create a sense of ownership. All the above-mentioned are, in a way, strategies to effectively/diplomatically communicate the critical role of thorough research in achieving meaningful results.

To convince my clients that wants quick results, I will make my clients to see the need for thourough research. ?I will make my clients know that thorough research is key to success. ?And if we skip research and launch a product without understanding what customers want, it might fail. ?I will let my client know that we have to take time to gather information. This can help us make better decisions and create a plan that works. ? And we can avoid mistakes and save money in the long run, when we do thorough research. In the end, good research leads to better results that last longer, making it worth the wait.

Two of the most powerful ways are clear communication and use case studies 1. Manage this is by setting clear expectations about the outcome and mapping out the plan to get there. Then together you discuss the plan and why each step is necessary. 2. Provide case studies of results achieved using your approach, and if available, what the pitfalls were when a quicker route was entertained. It is also important to recognize that not all potential clients are the right clients for you. You must be willing to make the decision about whether it is in your best interest to forgo a client’s relationship and preserve your reputation.

This isn't an "either/or" question. Iterative research is what we specialize in, which gives our clients robust signal as the work is in motion. Avoiding the "black hole" research zone where teams disappear for 1+ month to execute the research can help keep clients and stakeholders deeply involved, engaged and excited so they're more inclined to action off of it when the work concludes. We also heavily underscore that big decisions shouldn't be made with small n sizes.

When clients push for quick results, I like to stay in touch with updates as we go along, breaking things down so they know we’re making progress, even if it’s behind the scenes. Setting expectations from the start, and keeping clients in the loop with regular check-ins, really helps balance their need for speed with the importance of doing things right.
