Balancing loyalty and personal goals is really not easy. I usually will ask my candidate, if their loyalty still align with their long term goals.. Or if it’s holding them back. If it’s holding them back, i would suggest has an open conversation with their employer to see if there’s room for growth or opportunities that they want. But if there is none, i believe a good boss will happily let them go, and they can always stay connected with the management for future opportunities.. who knows, right? Importantly, don’t let emotions determine your future.

It’s definitely a challenging situation when u have to choose between loyalty and personal goals. It’s important to reflect on what values the most. Loyalty shouldn’t stop u from aspiring your dreams. An open conversation with your client will help u in finding solution for your personal growth. Staying true to urself is what matters

I think this one goes to the heart of what kind of ‘contract’ you have with your client’s. Are you coaching or mentoring them? Be very careful to be clear which one it is on this difficult topic. Usually the client will need to be supported to unpack what the deeper reasons might underpin this type of decision. Personal view (if appropriate to give!) would always be to gently challenge the client on how the notion of loyal the company really has been to them - or would be if it no longer deemed their services to be required. In addition - if they are seeking a change to explore why they might be fearful of that if it’s the right thing to do. ??
