When a client provides disappointing feedback the first thing would be understand their pain points. In my experience this is a great opportunity to ask them if they have conducted actual end user testing and if their pain points were similar. If it is an early iteration or MVP that you have shared with them then this was probably expected and this should help fuel more discovery sessions about the evolution of their needs after being hands on. If however this feedback is on your final product then it is indicative of the lack of discovery process, active listening and shared understanding in your development process and you should look closely at your methodology.

In my humble opinion as a VR user , Virtual Reality applications are great visualization tools that spark more curiosity than genuine interest,given the limited capabilities and the level of comfort users have to endure . That being said , clients are often satisfied when a product meets their expectations.Listening to your clients and trying to understand their needs and expectations will most likely be the best course of action into providing a satisfactory experience .

This is particularly important when changes are required so you can detail the time needed to implement the changes requested. It is also important to educate on the limitations of VR and its use cases for example an application that uses passthrough that is meant to be used on a construction site would be better suited for HoloLens etc... for health and safety reasons. Similarly a very high spec simulator would be best running on a PC with the device tethered to it due to the hardware limitations of the device
