In today times we have diverse needs and for many children with visual challenges can find it distracting or over stimulative in a classroom setting. It's crucial to strike a balance by using these colours purposefully, perhaps use the space to have atheistic colours where space could easily adapt to the theme for the month

I would like to have indoor plants in my class room.....rather I would love to teach in a lush green open environment, where students can breathe freely in air and enjoy reading poetry in a cool lush green environment in the background.This concept of classroom is in trend in many public sector schools ,rural and urban both in Pakistan for years and is still prevalent ,especially in sunny winters. There is something peculiar in lush green, as I once watched American president too holding press conference in an eco friendly environment, right after covid 19.

In my experience, plants and animals have a calming effect on traumatized, aggressive, and behaviorally challenged students. At different ages, these attributes display themselves in a variety of ways. Throughout each stage of adolescence, I’ve noticed that plants and animals offer a sense of needing to be loved, attended to, and nurtured that matches the nature of aforementioned students. In my classroom, the kids who either I’ve identified as needing special attention or those who’ve identified themselves receive “leadership” roles. I taught kindergarten for several years. I made colorful anchor charts with fun stick people for everything especially for literacy (prefixes, suffixes, sight words, etc). As some others have said, remember this is primarily the students' space. When thinking about anchor charts, ask them to create them - what images and words help them anchor information? What role models inspire them? Have their faces and quotes on the walls. I remember at Christmas wanting to decorate the classroom - so I put my students in charge. They decided what they wanted and they created the festive environment they wanted. It fostered pride in themselves and respect for the space.
