Always aim for smooth continuous movements rather than sudden and jerky turns. That’s the #1 mistake I see beginners do. Size does matter! So the bigger the sensor the more data you’re collecting and the better image you will get. That being said, DJI’s mini 3 doesn’t have a 1” sensor but still produces a crisp image. The more important thing to consider in my opinion is your shutter speed and your movement. If you’re shooting on a low shutter speed you will generally want to fly slower than when shooting at a higher shutter speed. It’s the same concept as your typical video (360 rule for shutter and fps). Most DJI drones do a great job on auto so you shouldn’t have a problem unless your light conditions are challenging.

I personally love DJI drones but it takes practice! I flew my first one into my kitchen wall and crashed it 5 minutes out of the box. Start outside with lots of space around you. Keep it within eye sight until you get the hang of it.

In my experience DJI drones are the easiest on the market. They make various drones with various levels of performance, both in image quality and flight. But they are also a consumer facing company so they've put a lot of resources into making them easy to fly. Their mavic series are small and portable, while their professional Inspire series are very large but offer superior image quality and handling.

FPV drones offer an exhilarating, immersive experience, bringing a dynamic, almost cinematic quality to your footage. They're superb for fast-paced, close-range shots, and can really showcase a location or action from an exciting new perspective. On the flip side, normal drones are perfect for stable, wide shots and providing a more traditional view. They might not offer the same adrenaline rush as FPV drones, but they're often easier to control and better for capturing smooth, steady footage.
