I would first find what works best you and your team. Another factor is if you are remote or on location and if they are lofi or hifi designs. The old-fashioned pen and paper may be the quickest way to ideate on location for lofis. But snapping pictures and sharing may not resonate with stakeholders. There are quite a few digital wireframing softwares. The only drawback that I have found for digital lofi designs is that it can almost look like a polished hifi. And could potentially set a pre-conceived expectation from stakeholders about what the final design may look like and even persuade yourself as well.

Here’s the thing, as we know there are three types of Wireframes, Low Fidelity, Mid Fidelity and High Fidelity. Low Fidelity wireframes are usually drawn on paper, a kind of sketches. But the most feasible way of Iterating through Mid and High Fidelity wireframes is creating these wireframes in Figma and prototyping (Connecting) the sketches. We have other tools for Wireframes as well like, Balsamic, MockFlow, UiZard but Figma is the one i found too much useful because we can achieve multiple goals at a time using Figma. For example we created the Wireframes, We connected them, and shared them with stakeholders for testing. By connecting the screens we actually created a user flow as well, how user would be navigated from start to end.
