To define the DQ goal: you need to have a clear idea of the Data Health of the Org across enterprise architecture. Data Quality Assessment - which may include what is the current quality, profile, stats, trust score, etc A data trust score measures how much you trust your data and is based on how accurate, up-to-date, and relevant your data is. Data Cleansing, Enrichment - what standardization, data preparation, rules, algorithms are required and stewardship to resolve those dedup, matching and other such issues How can this DQ process be Automated including Data Rule?

This is the crucial starting point for any DQ tool: Assesing sources , would tell you fittment of the product and connectivity you require which may be API, Big Data, Structured, Unstructured, JSON, Document , files, dbs etc What volumes of data is required to be handled and how many rules are required to be configured and automated as per the source At What frequency does the source changes and how many such changes Does your data require advanced cleaning, transformation, or validation rules? Does the tool follow metadata framework?
