In my experience when emotions get suppressed or not acknowledged they keep on lingering in our body, transforming in resentment or anger and eventually physical illnesses. Neuroscience confirms that labelling our emotions reduces cortisol in our blood. If we treat emotions as data, we access additional information available to us . Acknowledging and accepting our emotions helps us understand whey they come from, it might look like a reaction to a situation you are experiencing but in a reality they come from an unprocessed experience in the past. A set back is a term that we as humans created to rationalise a result that was not achieved. Think about that for a moment because what one person see's as a set back another will see as an opportunity. Its all about interpretation and perspective when in reality there is no such thing as a set back but rather only opinion about certain results.

Over the years, I have learned that most of the things I viewed as setbacks were actually set ups for something much better. From relationships to business ventures, I can look back and see the God scheduled opportunities to learn and grow. As Garth Brooks so famously said, "thank God for unanswered prayers".

Find answer for yourself what went wrong? You are the best judge of yourself. identify how can you improve on it and not repeat those mistakes in future. Ask for help maybe from your family, friends, colleagues tell them to give their honest feedback for your improvement. Note them, decide and rank which ones do you also feel has majority caused the damage.Identify vital few. Start taking small steps for improvement in those areas. Habits don't changes overnight it takes quite long time but your concious efforts will direct you on this path. Time and again seek feedback, gauge yourself on metrics that define your improvement. Things that are in your control must be the focus areas. Believe in yourself.

Setbacks are often a lesson in disguise. At my lowest point, I had just lost my job, I had just signed for a house, I lost that, I had to move back home, I was broke and in a ton of debt. Instead of trying to speed up and fix everything, I slowed down and thought, how did all of this happen? For my particular situation, much of the blame was on me and my direction at the time. This setback was a time to re-evaluate my life, where I was, what I was doing and where I wanted to go. In this light, setbacks are often a period for readjustment and reflection. A time to slow down for a minute and refine your path. Setbacks aren't permanent, they are simply a piece of time in your life that when used properly can propel you forward.

definitely spending time to review what lead up to the negative experience is a positive step in the right direction. Licking your wounds and sitting down to clearly articulate the things you should or shouldn't have done or was a victim of is a good step. I found writing down everything - a small pause to reflect, create a pros and cons sheet, then put it away for a few days, then relook at it, was a great way to look at everything objectively and move forward. Support in a partner is crucial, but I believe getting professional help is important as well. When you lose a ton of stuff because of the impact of someone else's decision you really build good ways to assess situations better in the future. I have a very good bullshit meter now.

Your plans must be. Dynamic and each day passing by must lead you closer to the goal.

Stay calm and slowly work through each area you want to develop for the future. Using the SMART goal's philosophy is helpful here. (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time bound) Secondly, ask for help from friends, professionals, mentors if available. Keep the big picture in mind - what are your passions and what vision do you have of your success, and can you articulate it on paper? The most important one - never ever quit, never quit, never quit. Keep moving forward implementing the plan you want to achieve, and refining it as you go.

In product innovation, major setbacks are fairly common. Adjusting the approach might mean dropping a feature, altering the target market or adapting to new regulation. You have to charge your self for upcoming challenges. You can't rely on good deeds of past, on daily basis you need to invest yourself on grooming and preparing for the right opportunity. Look back from where you started and how long you have come up, this will definitely give you confidence. The skills and qualities which have got you over there. Might not be sufficient for you to stay or grow further. The more you are centred and focussed on self development the less you will be distracted by noise around. Confidence is not something to be shown to people around, it's more deeper to be felt and experienced for yourself. It's okay and normal to get nervous but don't stay with that feeling and move out to try new and different things.

There are organizations out there that need you. It may take some time to get find them but it's true. Your confidence comes from your ability to adapt your skill sets to the next big opportunity. Being true to your passion in business will help substantially, but being aware of the skills you have, and what's needed in your next role helps you exude confidence and capability for a future employer. A positive mindset is important, and trust that you do have the skills. if you don't - get them! It's all about forward motion. You can never look back now.

Don't wait for people to appreciate your work. You know for yourself that you have done a fantastic work, that's good enough. You clap for yourself. We easily allow our inner critic to talk low on self or self doubts. But we don't encourage positive talk to oneself. Say GOOD JOB to yourself after completing the milestone. Thank your team members and maintain a gratitude journal. We all have our own stories and those cannot match with one other. So don't compare yourself with any one in this universe.

Gratitude towards the team's contributions is essential. It motivates everyone. Doing it in appropriate ways is a skill. Everyone values different things. Some like being thanked in public, others prefer a quiet thanks. Save big celebrations for big milestones!

In life, we learn that it's the steps along the journey. The people we meet along the journey and those relationships along the way. Including the one with SELF (The most important person) Loving life is loving the progress of the journey. That is being grateful. Amor Fati.

Don’t bounce back at all! Bear with me… It’s not really possible to “bounce back” because time continues to move forward. We can’t go back. We can only go forward. So rather than trying to “bounce back” focus on “growing through”. Leverage challenge and change into positive change rather than trying to recapture the past.

Talking to mentors, hiring a coach to work with you and help you get hold of your situation, work buddies or circle of excellence (people who are in similar journey or have done better). The worst is to battle it on your own. It often leads to anxiety, stress and depression.
