3D Printing can be overwhelming with long print times and concerns over prints failing. In my experience, it's important to assess the individual difficulties with each print. As an example, a large 3D print with ABS will tend to be much harder than a large PLA print. ABS warps and this is exemplified if your printer does not have an enclosed chamber that is heated. Large prints may need special adhesives that prevent it from warping like "Magigoo", otherwise finding an alternative to ABS may save valuable printing time. 3D Printing with a deadline is often about compromise and adapting to be as efficient with time as possible and prevent print failures.

I can not stress enough the importance of print order when you’re on a deadline. If you have several prints to do, always start the longest a couple of hours before leaving the work place. This way you are making large amounts of progress while you are away. Then when you are at work knock out the smaller prints to ensure maximum production of your printer. If you have a lot of small pieces to print don’t be afraid to combine them into one print file. Be cautious though because a lot of smaller parts printing at once can have an increased risk of print failure.

The largest factors for print time are certainly layer height, but also consider perimeter wall quantity and top/bottom layer count. Having a print with 4 walls will greatly increase strength and is recommended for strong prints such as 3D prints used for building a voron. When prototyping, reducing wall count to 2 or 3 walls, reducing top and bottom layers to 3 or 4 can save on time while keeping good surface finishing. Certain materials like PETG may not be suited to the reduction of walls due to the bubbling phenomenon that can happen over infill on top layers. Adjusting of wall and bottom layers should be utilized similarly to layer height.
