1 Identify the root cause

The first step is to understand why some team members are not following safety procedures. Is it because they are unaware, untrained, or unconvinced of their importance? Or is it because they are overconfident, careless, or rebellious? Depending on the underlying reason, you may need to use different approaches to communicate, educate, or motivate them. For example, if they are unaware, you can provide clear and consistent guidelines and reminders. If they are untrained, you can offer coaching and feedback.
