You have to present remotely to your biggest client. How can you make sure they stay engaged?

I would do the following things to make sure I get (and keep) their attention: 1.Make a switch every 5-10 minutes. This could mean changing speakers, showing a graph/data, launching a poll (or Menti question) or even asking someone from the audience directly to share their thoughts on the subject. 2. Tell stories: a story brings data/facts to life and makes the content easier to digest 3. Vary your tone and delivery: a uniform tone is very calming, but you don’t want to put your clients to sleep 4. Start with setting objectives for THEM: “today you will learn…”

Use light humour to lighten things up a little for you and for them. Talk about them instead of talking about what you can do for them. Put them as the ??star?? of the story you are telling and they will ask you how you can help them. Ask direct questions to specific people without putting them on the spot.

Adapt according to the audience, skim less important content or increase your pace if you are short on time or if the audience wants you to move on.

Technical glitch can be the biggest challenges it can make you look lesser organised which will also make client think or question your credibility. Make sure everything is perfect and you also have a backup if possible.

Some examples of backup plans are; If you are doing a presentation virtually open other tabs or make some other browsers ready before presentation. You can have some internet problem so you can make your mobile phone and your hotspot in the backup If it is face to face, always test your presentation in the place itself if you are in a new place triple check everything beforehand.

Effective remote presentations begin with thorough technical planning. It is best to test your software, hardware, and internet well in advance to prevent problems with slides, audio, or video. Use high-quality audio/video equipment and check for a dependable connection. Keeping a backup plan, such as a phone number or alternate connection, provides an additional level of protection against unanticipated problems.

I remember quite vividly stepping into a virtual client meeting once, only to find out my image was flipped sideways. It gave everyone a good laugh but gave me loads of stress and embarrassment. It's not meant to be fun, but in most instances, informative. This is because clients are primarily focused on how your offering can benefit their business or address their specific needs. Your role is to clearly articulate the value proposition, demonstrating a deep understanding of their challenges and how your solution is uniquely positioned to solve them, not to entertain them.

Engaging your audience is first on my list. Figuring out unique, creative ways that you can ask questions or make them feel inclusive would be key. Can you take a pole, insert light jokes, ask questions, crate an activity etc. Have your “temp” checks throughout certain spaces of your presentation so you know when to check in on the client during the presentation.

Make sure the data used it upto mark and you have back checked it , just in case client questions it. While explaining the cases or data , do it confidently. That makes a mark in client mind.

The delivery of a presentation holds equal importance to the content. Confidence in delivery and the ability to captivate your audience are key.

In order to leave a lasting impression, delivery counts. Practice until you can speak with ease, projecting professionalism and confidence. Maintain an appealing tone by speaking with conviction, clarity, and a variety of tones. To keep my biggest client engaged during a remote presentation: - I ensure that the content is relevant, valuable, and tailored to their needs - I use Interactive Elements like polls, Q&A sessions, or interactive activities -I use compelling visuals, slides, and graphics to enhance understanding - I mix in videos, animations, or live demonstrations - I maintain a clear and logical structure to guide them through the presentation - I start with a captivating story, quote, or question to grab their attention - I use Audience-Centric Approach - I use breaks if it's a lengthy presentation - I remain attentive to their reactions and adapt the presentation accordingly - I provide opportunities for questions, discussions, or follow-up meetings

I'd say following up is made easier if you've thought about incorporating action points and follow-up points in your delivery. To manage (and meet!) expectations, make sure you have clear takeaways and actions for your client (including a timeline) during your presentation. Check with them to ensure those align with their goals and visions, and if they do, then you can confidently follow up on what you have agreed.

After concluding your remote presentation, ensure a proactive follow-up. Send a sincere thank-you email, summarizing key points and attaching relevant materials. Establish a clear call to action, be it scheduling a meeting, signing a contract, or making a purchase. Maintain consistent communication to address concerns, reinforce your message, and guide them towards a decision. This diligent approach strengthens client relationships and increases the likelihood of a successful deal.

Sometimes there might be discrepancy or miss understanding, client might even offend you, but you have to keep calm and try to explain the client the actual situation.

Points which need to be kept in mind: 1. Keep the content precise and not too lengthy; 2. Add questionnaires in between the slides to keep the client engaged during the presentation; 3. Maintain eye contact with the client, which reflects your confidence level; 4. Be clear about the product for which you're pitching; 5. Be humble and bold.
