To be honest, most students will need to know how to use the most common tools out in the workplace, so HE is the best place to skill them up in those. If they then go on to post grad then R, SSPS, JMP etc are useful to add to their skill set once they have the key elements for routine work sorted. Although Excel may seem confusing when utilized beyond basic data management, it is worth it (or has been for me, anyway). I like how the formulas simplify data and the multiple options to analyze data, like pivot tables/charts/graphs. These options relay data in a more visually appealing and understandable fashion.

Dentro de las herramientas que más he usado se encuentra SharePoint de Microsoft para el almacenamiento de los datos, Trello para la gestión de tareas específicas y Slack para la comunicación y colaboración en el equipo. Aunque SharePoint también tiene herramientas para la comunicación como Teams, prefiero usar otros recursos para esto. Considero que actualmente hay muchas herramientas que facilitan la gestion de los datos, es importante identificar cuál se ajusta mejor a nuestras necesidades.

In this case, i would suggest tools as simple like MS Excel and thinking about MS Office, the use of Power BI. If deep statistical analysis needs to be done, i would suggest SPSS and if i like to try solutions that can be customized on the way, i would suggest to use Python and R

Generally, social data contains categorical (labels, levels,...) and ordinal (numbers with some orders). Data analysis tools should be able to perform analysis on both of them, and it's better to be able to combine them. If you don't want to get involve in programming, in my opinion MATLAB provide exteremely powerful tools with high quality charts. But you should consider cost due to license. But if you want to get involve in some coding, python packages like pandas and matplotlib provide good level of visualization, and analysis.
