Deciding the mic depends in the use case: 1. "Talking Head" - broadcasting? YouTube? Zoom? 2. Podcasting - no video, just audio 3. Voice over - adding video to visuals Each one of these three options requires a different setup, selecting your MIC is just one one component out of many others, but it does make a huge effect on your final decision. Dynamic Mics are the best option in terms of quality, proximity effect, cancelling surround noise (Reverb), but it requires specific setup (XLR input), audio interface (e.g. Focusrite Scarlett 2i2), and sometimes additional amplifier to maximize the MIC's full range of gain. Shure SM57 / SM58 are affordable and top quality Dynamic MICs. If money is no issue - Shure M7+ is the best option.

USB Mics are easy to set up but the ease of use and low price come with huge caveat - SUB Mics pick up everything, every noise and sound balanced from your room walls and ceiling, cars from the street, dog barking at cats etc. To cancel these noises (your ear does hear) you will need to invest extra $$$ in noise absorbers etc. For quality recordings, USB Mics are not recommended. For Zoom meetings, you can get away with that.

If you're recording voice over for slides, podcasting or any other use case video is not required, you can save tons of $$$ by recording in a closet or under a thick blanket in bed. For dynamic mic, i recommend using an amplifier specially designed for making vocal recordings clearer, more detailed, more realistic and vivid.
