Look for clues there and in deliverables they have created: * Is their content easy to read and understand? * Is it as concise as possible? * Does it appear to speak to its audience in a clear and helpful way? The above seem easy and obvious. However, often we hire people mainly because of tools with which they are familiar rather than quality content they have developed. Focus on Quality Content and you will find the right people.

The best way to set deadlines is Google drive. It's free and anyone can use it. Best of all, it's collaborative, so changed in deadlines or scope can be highlighted quickly (as long as agreed).

I think what matters more than deadlines at times is the quality of work. I've seen freelancers giving average quality of work and just expecting most of the work to be done by their client, which should not be the case ideally. Deadlines matter, but realistic deadlines matter more to help the freelancer work in a much more efficient manner

I use Mircosoft to do and google calender to set deadlines and time with these, I maintain my google excel sheet to record the progress and results.

I think it depends from client to client. Many a times, the client does not have much time and on these times, the freelancer or content creator must work accordingly but with minimal communication to let expectations meet at both ends.

You can meet for 15-30 minutes and longer when and if necessary. This will decrease the possibility of bad surprises which put the project at risk.

In regards to YouTube creators, it is important to understand their filming area before you hire them. They will often be recording and have a background that doesn't fit the company's brand. Too often, all we worry about is the content they are delivering but the actual setup can have negative consequences as well.

First, I research hand analyze the compitition of that content with proper intention. then I plan to record or write; here this stuff works very well for me.
