Types of product launch frameworks
There are many product launch frameworks available, but they can be broadly categorized into two types: goal-oriented and process-oriented.
Goal-oriented frameworks focus on defining and measuring the desired outcomes of the launch, such as revenue, retention, or adoption. They help you set SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound) goals and KPIs (key performance indicators) for your launch, and track them throughout the launch cycle. Examples of goal-oriented frameworks are OKR (objectives and key results), GIST (goals, ideas, steps, and tasks), and ICE (impact, confidence, and ease).
Process-oriented frameworks focus on outlining and executing the steps and activities required for the launch, such as research, development, testing, marketing, and support. They help you create a launch plan and timeline, assign roles and responsibilities, and manage risks and dependencies. Examples of process-oriented frameworks are RACE (reach, act, convert, engage), PRINCE2 (projects in controlled environments), and Agile.
