What's the best way to build links for your SEO?

I'm adding a little here as what is missing is the strategy for link building. Think of SEO as a funnel. No one buys on a first visit. It starts with typically a product query. E.g., "What's the right flower to gift to a casual friend on her birthday?" Here you want to build links to content that talks of red roses versus yellow roses etc. This is top-of-the-funnel stuff. Then comes mid-funnel Once the prospect has decided on yellow roses, thanks to your content, she is likely to search for qualifying facts. Like "Where do the best yellow roses come from?". Building links to such content brings her to your site. And pre-diaposes her to your brand. The bottom of the funnel is price, discount, delivery etc stuff. Links are needed here too

Backlinks are a vote for the website to increase trust and authority. According to the PageRank algorithm that is still functional for evaluating a website for search rank. High quality backlinks lead to more vote share towards the website and more chances to get higher rank in Google. You must be careful while doing link building exercises. Get backlinks for specific website by creating link-worthy content. Content should be relevant to industry & useful to users. It can consum search trends. If a content is unable to consume search trends despite of intense quality. It sucks for Google. The link from that content has no meaning. Deindexed content does not add any value for getting backlinks, even such links are counted as spam links

Tangible and nice content is much more link-worthy that high level fluffy stuff. Also, most of the content is high level so you are competing with a lot of other content to get to that top of a list to get your link in a foreign content. But when your content is very narrow and specific you are not competing as much. Also, you always have the option to create a overarching high-level content to link to all your niece work.

Linkable assets are a great way of creating a passive stream of links. The more you produce it, the more chances you have to land good links. Analyze what's getting tons of links in your industry. Some ideas include: 1. Industry reports and data 2. Guides 3. Statistics 4. Controversial content 5. Trendy content 6. Listicles

Alternatively, seek the same prospects on a social channel and comment on their post with links to your content. You can also seek social post that are complementing your content. So if anyone is complaining "I dont know how to use XYZ", then feel free to comment with you link and directing them to your content.

Reaching out to prospects should be easy so long as you’re offering something of value: ? Reach out to websites that link to you using a generic “click here” and ask that they change it to something informative. Ask website that mention your brand to insert a hyperlink. ? Respond to requests made by journalists in places like HARO and Prowly. ? Contact the companies you mention in your blogs to see if they want to collaborate. If you’re reaching out for the first time, keep your email short. Something like, “I came across your list of top [topic] and found the information helpful. Just wanted to let you know there are a few broken links: [link 1,2..) I recently published a [short pitch]. It might make a nice replacement. Hope this helps!”

This is the most important part. Don't mess it up. Reach out and introduce yourself. Give value right away. Offer content, free trial, data, visuals, credits, etc. Just make sure you are not spamming or begging for links. Act like a human, make a person from the other side feel respected. Have a nice signature and social proof. Clearly state your intentions. Verify email before sending

Make sure to track indexed links cause only they have an impact on your website. You can find them on Ahrefs. Also, keep a track of your work in the sheet. This way you can reuse your contacts for the future campaigns. In my opinion, a consistent year of link building can get you far if you combine it with other SEO efforts.

You can always use free SEO analysis tools that can help with such performance management. I generally use the hoth free tools. It is great. If you can then integrate with Google analytics to get more details. And at the highest level you should be maintaining a tag with every link to show source.

The Best way is to focus on high quality Referring domains you are getting. Higher the RDs better the link profile. Don't confuse No. Of Referring domains with no. Of Backlinks. You can acquire multiple backlinks from a domain/website but the referring domain will be one.
