What are your top sources for staying current in executive coaching?

There are too many books and podcasts to list here in terms of value add so I will provide you two main points to consider: 1) Not all books or podcasts are (equally) great - do thorough research to find out if this is even the author of interest to you and your personal and professional beliefs and practice 2) Figure out first what you are interested in. Fancy titles, big names and flashy marketing can be misleading and take you down a rabbit hole of your time. I have watched, read and listened to all of these listed below and found The Prosperous Coach to be the only one that resonated with new and different information. Find what lights you up!

I am grateful to Institute of Coaching, ICF, Moore Master Coaching, Coacharya, Dr Richard Barrett, Janet Harvey, Jennifer Britton, Leon Vanderpol , Haesun Moon, Executive Coaching Connections and numerous other coaches who generously share their wisdom in the form of lectures, books, courses and in person interactions. Equally grateful to all the clients who have embraced coaching, each coaching session is an opportunity to hone our craft and serve our clients better. Last but not the least, I feel fortunate and blessed for the deep insights from Buddhism via Thich Nhat Hanh, Pema Chodron, Lama Yeshe, Mark Epstein and Rob Burbea. We have now entered the multi-verse of e-learning and there is no shortage of places to find self-paced or virtual learning. I know I sound like a broken record but please read my answer above regarding "Books and Podcasts" -- the same approach applies. Happy Upskilling!

I feel we've touched on this topic in other threads but I will reflect what I shared previously. Self-reflection and feedback are the cornerstones of being a coach and coaching. If you are a professional certified coach and practicing currently or on your way -- enlisting valuable and constructive feedback as well as taking the time to reflect on it is vital. Don't shortcut your own development or else you will shortcut those you serve.

Upskilling yourself as a coach and professional should always be top of mind and something you actively seek out to do. You can't be proficient if you aren't learning how to better yourself. Personally, I don't overdo it and overpromise to myself (and others) what I will do to enhance my skills. I find one book, one author/speaker or podcast or course that peeks my interest and stick to it and follow through. Avoiding the shiny object syndrome is important and will help you focus on your greatest ROI.

One of the most neglected things is having a coach yourself. In my opinion, no good coach goes without a coach ;) Apart from that, a lot's been said: conferences and workshops are crucial, getting feedback from your clients and coaches, and always remember coaching means continuous learning.
