Effective project documentation is undeniably crucial, admittedly it often presents a challenge for me. It's difficult to pause and meticulously track progress without jeopardizing deadlines. However, it's not a matter of insufficient time but rather a question of timing. Attempting to document in real-time can disrupt my train of thought and workflow and moving swiftly between tasks is desirable once a project ends. On the flip side, when I'm coding, I'm meticulous about adding comments. Painful experience taught me that comments are invaluable, particularly for code infrequently used. They're a lifeline when making post-release modifications. In an ideal world, I'd just delegate the process to an assistant. Ah, if I only had an assistant!

Building out a data dictionary from the onset of the project, even before data transformation will help to ensure an accurate map of each process can be easily recorded either through a spreadsheet or a DAG on Dbt. This makes it super easy to document your workflow as you build out pipelines, through Git etc.
