In addition, they show the brand possibilities and help the client understand their service or product versatility. However, it's important to curate mockups that suit the style of the project and only show achievable alternatives. By doing this you can expect the client to call back to finalize some of your mockup proposals. For example, I was called back to design a couple of signs for a brand I had designed their logo because they saw those sign mockups in the Brand Book. The client decided those would be also nice to include in their stores and they made them part of the project.

This step is crucial as once you see it on the mockups, any corrections, if any can be made accordingly. It will also give you an idea how to place your logo on different mediums.

In my humble opinion, I think the best software for logos is the one which is universal. Of course, we should prioritise clients' choices but if the client wants an unusual one we should suggest the one which is industry standard. The software that the majority of designers use. So that we could ease the future potential designer's hassle as well as the clients.

One thing I have found invaluable is to have a line of communication between myself and the client having the logo designed. In every one of those instances I may have reviewed the post detailing the design request from the client, but that was the extent of the feedback I had. Then I discovered, for example, the section in the freelancer platform that showed messages between designers and the client, questions and replies outlining specifics about their preferences.
