What are the top GPS navigation systems for professionals in the automotive industry?

Most car owners in India likely rely on traditional navigation through in-car GPS systems or phone apps while on the other hand some high-end car models offer professional navigation.

In my opinion an intuitive UI and a well-placed navigation system are both crucial for drivers. An intuitive UI minimizes the time spent interacting with the device leading the driver focusing on the road most of the time. Nowadays the companies are looking forward to projecting the navigation directly onto the windshield in the driver's line of sight, which might look cool at first but at the same time the driver could still face the distraction even so lesser than the GPS positioned lower on the dashboard, meanwhile on a hot sunny day the projected indications might not be very effective due to glares on the windshield.

Connectivity technology is indeed a great tool, but using it responsibly is important. While the GPS navigation systems offer convenience, avoid distractions to prioritize safe driving, our focus should always be on the road first and foremost. Even hands-free calls and text message readouts can divert your attention from the road, increasing the risk of accidents since any cognitive load including conversations can impede driving performance.

The durable mounting option is essential, by understanding the risks of both loose and overly tight grips, we can choose a mounting solution that keeps our device secure without damaging our vehicle's interior. A cheaper or loose mount can cause the device to shake or vibrate, it can cause potential damage to the GPS device itself, increase in risk of the device falling and topple in case of sudden stop, on the other side overly tight grip can damage our vehicle's interior. Overly tight mount can also damage air vent louvers or break the vent if attached just over it. The mount should be attached to the pillar A between the windshield and the driver's side window as it offers good visibility without obstructing the driver's view.

The future of GPS systems is promising, with continuous innovations. Apart from all the above mentioned features, I would definitely like to see if the GPS systems could display live fuel prices at nearby gas stations, allowing drivers to find the most cost-effective option while en route.
