What technologies can help foster creativity in the classroom?

Teaching robotics can be introduced at an early age should be encouraged. In addition, some studies have shown no difference between boys' and girls' interest levels in and capability of learning robotics. Educational robotics (ER) positively impacts student learning regarding STEM. This impact is connected to the hands-on approach to learning what ER offers.

Learning how to tell a story through digital media is the start of a robust skill set that can also lead to a promising career. Some of my students thought this skill was for those who desire to become social media influencers. I explained that it also allows the individual to market (a product or service) or sell an idea or vision. It is a necessary tool for all entities and individuals who need to share their message.

There is more room for high-quality game-based educational platforms within the educational landscape. Especially since they have been proven to keep children engaged and excited about learning, such games will become more interactive to the point where they will know their users' shortcomings/problem areas and adjust to the learners' educational needs. Game-based education will continue to expand into the realm of personalized and problem-based learning for the younger audience. The result of this expansion would be a more engaged group of students.

By delegating administrative tasks(i.e. testing, grading) to AI and ML systems, educators can allocate a greater portion of their time to nurturing creativity within the classroom. This is achievable because these technologies provide the foundation for personalized and adaptive learning experiences. Through these tailored learning experiences, educators can design and guide more informed and directed play activities that promote structured exploration, problem-solving, and collaboration among students. In essence, AI and ML become the supportive backbone, allowing teachers to focus more on cultivating creative thinking and innovation in their students, which enhances the overall educational experience for students.

It effectively outlines how each technology can stimulate innovative thinking and skill development among students. I would like to highlight the importance of fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among these technologies. For instance, coding with digital storytelling or AI with maker spaces can create more holistic and multifaceted creative learning experiences. My experience suggests that integrating these technologies amplifies the learner’s creative exploration and problem-solving skills across disciplines.

Technologies such as interactive whiteboards, collaborative online platforms, educational apps, and virtual reality tools can foster creativity in the classroom by providing dynamic and engaging ways for students to explore, create, and share ideas.

The commonly used frameworks to integrate technology within teaching and learning include the TPACKmodel, the Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition (SAMR) model, and the Technology Integration Matrix (TIM) model. The technologies that are currently being used in class room settings are wearable technologies, simulations on software packages, web based learning, multimedia instructional materials and visual thinking tools. All the mentioned tools are the sub constructs of creative class room learning.

The Conservative government, primarily with their academy policies, have left schools vastly underfunded. British children are rapidly falling behind their European and RotW peers. Before this sort of question can be considered, something has to be done to fund schools properly by ensuring the wealthy pay their fair share of tax.

It is particularly motivating to work on real world problems. This also teaches the learners that "real" problems are hard, open problems - problems where not all necessary data to solve them is available and where there is more than just one solution. Being able to recognize this and also define evaluation criteria to compare different solutions are crucial skills.
