My Tips: 1. Ask them open-ended questions. Instead of asking questions that can be answered with a simple yes or no, ask questions that require your clients to think outside the box. 2. Challenge their assumptions. We all have assumptions about how things work and what's possible. But sometimes, these assumptions can hold us back from coming up with new ideas. Encourage your clients to challenge their assumptions and think about things in a new way. 3. Expose them to new ideas and experiences. One of the best ways to spark creativity is to expose yourself to new ideas and experiences. Take your clients to industry conferences, introduce them to new people, and encourage them to read books and articles outside of their field.

A great resource is the book The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. One of the suggested exercises is morning pages which is a freeform journaling daily practice. You don’t have to go back and read the pages and they aren’t written for anyone else to read. Journaling daily is a great way to practice mindful reflection. Pick a regular time of day (morning or evening). Set a regular time and daily intention- this will make it more likely to happen.
