At Circles we've innovated a unique approach that marries peer-driven learning with the flexibility of micro-learnings. I saw this as a problem in some HEIs in the Philippines. Faculty members enrol in different trainings and courses and at some point will be given great opportunity for research scholarship yet when they move back to their mother university or institution, they become bored and stagnate as there are limited opportunities to practice their newly-acquired skills. HEIs should be able to establish an innovation lab where they incubate new ideas from these faculty and turn these ideas into working projects and an income generating one.

Learning has no limits in the real world. An appetite for continuous development needs to be immersed into the institution's DNA, across all dimensions of the hierarchy. Eschew this at your peril as a leader; leadership is learning! Moreover, the minute that staff stop feeling like they are moving forward is the minute that complacency, cynicism and stasis sets in. Learning needs to be the zeitgeist of every learning institution - not just the students!
