To further inspect the oxygen sensors, it is important to locate the position(s) of the oxygen sensor(s). To do this, I recommend technicians to use parts catalogue or repairs manual specific for that vehicle to seek out the precise location for the sensor. Most conveniently, I quickly resort to OPCs (Online Parts Catalogues), register the vehicle specific identification numbers and search out the sensor from the exploded engineering drawings. Alternatively, a repair manual will state the range of values the oxygen sensors are designed to read. When I am informed of this ranges, I can subsequently look out for anomalies by testing the sensors with a multimeter.

Also, if the value remains constant despite reving the engine, it depicts a bad sensor. 2. Using a Scanner - Some scanners have the capacity to carry out live test on the o2 sensor. Here, with the sensor still connected to the vehicle computer, Rev the engine and observed the voltage values for the sensor reading.
