Online courses are great. You can start of with some great course on youtube for free. But I would quickly move to paid course. The payment itself is sort of a commitment towards completing the course. Don't just listen to the course. Have a project next to the course. And try to learn the skills relevant to your project, this means that you can skip through the course to the information you need. For me, this produces way better results than just following the course and hope I remember everything.

Online courses are good, but better face to face with the teacher, the pesonal experience is Priceless, the human being is a being who has many senses and needs to be able to "touch", experiment and have an early response to his concerns. I recommend too, a lot of caution with AI. It has been hailed as the great revolution, but it is a double-edged sword. As Bruce Lee said: "Be water my friend"

When it comes to network security, it is best to practice your skills by creating a homelab and testing out many different networking scenarios. Setup all kinds of secure networks from VPNs, firewalls, routing, etc. You can make it as exciting as you want. This is the best way to learn. Nothing teaches as well as a project that you care about. When it comes to offensive network security. So trying to hack other networks then it is best to learn more about pentesting. Use online platforms like Hack the Box or TryHackMe. And use the skills you learn to try breaking your own homelab.

Well, there is a saying that practice makes perfect. You are not truly learning if you don't put what you have learnt to good use. There are several online platforms you can use for your practice; TryHackMe is a very popular one. Additionally, follow security blogs, CVEs (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures), and security news sources. Practice exploiting and patching vulnerabilities in a controlled environment to understand their implications.

It doesn't need to be SMART. But set goals and if you notice that you don't take action then your goal is useless. Maybe you don't care enough about your goal or it is too big. Play around with different goals and see which goals drive you to action. Because without action a goal is useless.
