I have a little technique for vocal modulation I learned on an exec presence training course years ago which has stuck with me ever since. I use it before every presentation. Here it is: Pick a sentence, medium length. Better yet, use a sentence with a reminder of something you want to do or achieve with your talk. For me, I like to use "I must keep my words at the front of my mouth." Now, repeat that sentence over and over, out loud, placing emphasis on a different word with every repetition. E.g.: - "I MUST keep my words at the front of my mouth" - "I must KEEP my words at the front of my mouth" - "I must keep my WORDS at the front of my mouth" etc. etc. Notice how your rhythm & intonation will change? Try it! ??
