Simulating the needed conditions of the working is not easy. For that reason, the need to set the network speeds to the desired network conditions is essential. At times, there are functionalities that need "no network" or low network speeds to test the real-time effect. These are also times that can't be simulated easily. One of the easiest solutions that we utilised in the past, for such a situation, is to use crowd sourcing. Use the digital media and announce your requirements. Provide an incentive for the test to be fine in the certain speed range and then assign it to the individual. Give a proper well desired reward to that individual and your work is done.

Since mobile devices can be offline or with limited connectivity for various reasons, it's important to build these use cases into the app right from the start. Only after that, offline functionality can be properly tested. If offline scenarios are not considered beforehand, the behavior will be undefined and unexpected things (from the user perspective) will happen, such as data inconsistency and crashes. Therefore, offline scenarios should be considered early on. Write unit tests that cover offline scenarios when APIs are used - many frameworks allow reading of the network state and connection type of the mobile device. Manual tests should then verify that the app behaves as expected by simulating different settings and connections.
