1 Sustainability awareness

While working with various events and conferences i always try to do some eco-friendly initiatives be it paperless , solar lights , no plastic zone etc What we can do is :- > Identify and partner with vendors committed to eco-friendly products and practices. > The environment and your wallet will both benefit from conservation and waste reduction efforts, which frequently result in cost savings. > Engage in community programs > Track and assess how our?events are affecting the ecosystem etc Let's organize activities that benefit the environment. When we work together, we can smoothly incorporate green practices into every aspect of the event, from planning to execution, making it a shining example of environmental awareness.

Event managers need to be able to listen, negotiate, persuade, and influence stakeholders to adopt sustainability practices and support the event's vision and values. It must start with the event planners company. If the event planners company has sustainability policies in place that are being practiced everyday then it will be easier to put the same plan into place at their events. It will also help the employees understand the why and will be able to better convince their clients on how important these measures are and how easy they're to implement at their event.

Don’t forget that your venue/facility is another important stakeholder in your providing an event sustainability platform. Check what sustainability programs are already in place at your facility/venue (e.g. recycling plastic, aluminum, carpet). They can also assist you in community outreach… and, ultimately realizing your specific show sustainability plan.

Outlining the benefits and impacts of sustainability to stakeholders, business owners and informing the collaborative team of the importance has a huge impact on creating smart and knowledgeable decisions putting forth a well rounded and future thinking event,plus being able yo incorporate it into the attendee experience and content is full circle planning.

3 Innovation and creativity

A third skill that event managers need is to be able to innovate and create solutions that enhance the sustainability of events. Innovation and creativity involve being able to think outside the box, challenge the status quo, and find new ways of doing things that reduce the environmental footprint, increase the social value, and optimize the economic benefits of events. Event managers need to be able to apply their knowledge, experience, and imagination to design and deliver events that are memorable, engaging, and responsible. They also need to be able to adapt and respond to changing circumstances, needs, and expectations, and to embrace new technologies, trends, and opportunities for sustainability.

Consider what in your event communication strategy can be replaced with "evergreen" or digital alternatives. Can that invitation be digital (or printed on paper that can be composted/planted)? Do you REALLY need table centerpieces, and if so, can those be something that can become something else (toys that are donated to charity? A local artist's work that is auctioned off?) Do you really need a sign that is themed to the event, or can it be a projection, or chalk, or a light gobo, or something you will use again and again? Can you donate that banner to a local school or art club after the meeting? Can you replace that program with a QR code? Can you offer recycling & compost bins next to the trashcans?

Ent?o, nem sempre encontraremos fornecedores já preparados no quesito sustentabilidade e por isso, precisamos encontrar a??es adequadas, como: Buscando fornecedores locais (na cidade onde o evento ocorrerá), valorizando a cultura da regi?o (trazendo como atra??es para o evento e brindes artesanais, por exemplo) ou colaborando com institui??es da cidade, estaremos trazendo a sustentabilidade em sua essência para o evento.
