In my experience with Mushroom Packaging, it would extremely well. You are able to mold it around your parcel and it hardens around in a short time to provide excellent protection. It breaks down fairly quickly when placed in our outside holding area as well. They also now have Bio-degradeable packing peanuts that are almost identical to the common styrofoam peanuts everyone knows of.

I agree that reusable is a great plan, but with LTL carrier prices right now, customers are reluctant to agree to anything involving return shipment, and even if they do, business wise it is not always the best path financially.

I like how Linkedin posted this and the reverse logistics article closely together. In my industry, we reuse many containers several times. In addition, we fix many pallets and crates to reuse them again for the parts we make. We have also set up reverse logistics on many occasions, which has worked well.
