It's essential to be sensitive to your audience, considering their cultural background, norms, and values. Additionally, be mindful of political correctness. Ultimately, your ability to gauge others' reactions and the situational context is crucial in effectively using humour and satire.

I try to incorporate humor in all my interactions at work if possible. It keeps the environment light and fluid. Engagement multiples. And if done properly and tactfully you will get your point across a lot faster end effectively.

Humor and satire are great connectors. My go-to is popular culture such as music or memes from current events. One of the best states I’ve found to be in is truly, genuinely laughing at oneself. For example, about two weeks ago, I gave an in-person, live presentation to over 200 people. Right in my introduction, a phone alarm went off. It was so loud I thought it was mine. I think the best answer is JUST DON’T. As in don’t even let this happen. How can you prevent a humor blunder? Purpose: does the humor help make your point? Is it necessary? Can you get the same outcome without the humor/in a different way? Practice your message with a very diverse group. See how things land on them. Check your motivations: often we are feeding our egos when we engage in humorous storytelling or trying to crack jokes as a part of talks.

Depends strongly on the audience. I would tend to do it more on the spoken word then directly write it in the presentation. Using gifs or memes could be an option but also depending on the audience.

I don't use humour when presenting. In different cultures this can go horribly wrong. I do allow groups to use humour when I facilitate. In strategy and change workshops, I often get small groups to create a 2 act play. Act one is their company today. Act 2 is their company as they'd like it to be. Their characters include their customers, staff, and managers/ceo. They often put their own humour into their acts. The humour allows them to provide an honest assessment of their current situation, without anyone getting defensive.
