Constant communication with them is the key. When the book their tee times, either over the phone or on-line, remind them. The starters can remind them again, beverage cart associates can take empty cans or anything other garbage, especially recycling material. At the turn, have obvious signage for trash and recycling. Signage for not feeding wildlife, signage for staying out of wetlands or other areas with protected plants etc.

Like any other sports , by giving instructions and create awareness about recyclying and ask Golfers to respect rules of following trash codes bins when putting waste and by reporting any issues with sprinklers to the management , reduce the use of plastic bottles are all few examples of how golfers can play a role in maintaining an effective environmental plan.

Golf is a sport only few selective who has wealth practice it , the percentage of people who practice are wealthy or financial comfortable the rest consider less than 10 percent who is there for game. So knowing the audience can help promote the idea. And since the majority wealthy and successful business people the task is kind hard because every one think he is on top of his game and there is no need for new insight, they are the influencer and here the only approach I see useful is displaying the fact, and the cons and pros of the environmental issue spread awareness for problems and facts not known to them and it should be based on scientific facts your audience not typical audience they are most sophisticated and successful audience.
