In my opinion, Feedback and Recognition both are important tool to keep maintenance Personnel motivated. prompt and constructive feedback is critical. during the CM or PM, it is critical to provide quick feedback followed by detailed feedback if needed. Keep giving them new challenges as maintenance work gets monotony very fast. job rotation, new skill trainings, involvement in innovative and problem solving solutions will give them food for their mind. No motivation tool can replace recognition. giving recognition is morale boosting for the employees. Recognition can be in terms of open appreciation in front of all employees, certification, small gift or token on completion of jobs and nomination for awards will keep them motivated.

In my experience, we built our own in-house training modules created by the maintenance department. These devices were based on years of data collection and our organizations weakness'. We made 2 of our senior members trainers (1 - electrical + 1 - mechanical). All new members joining the maintenance department would first go to our training group for 3 months before they could be fully released onto the floor. We were able to show new hires many safety related issues (LOTO, fire prevention, slip hazards, wire ties, fluid leaks). This expanded over the years into TPM and lean practices including kaizen competions, BAMA events and traveling for training events.

Es por eso que se deben crear metodologías de procedimientos , difusiones , entrenamientos y si es necesario reforzamientos para no afectar en el cambio de capacitación .

Ca contribue au respect et au bon travail entre responsables et techniciens.

- Os treinamento precisam estar alinhados com a demanda do cargo. - importante fornecem treinamentos de ferramentas de gest?o para técnicos, como gest?o do tempo, prioridades, emo??es e seguran?a. - Treinamentos in loco (na própria área) podem ser bons, mas retirar o colaborador do ambiente diário pode ser mais eficaz. - N?o treine apenas o específico, foque no básico. Uma base forte irá prepará-lo melhor.

Listen. These folks are the glue of operations and literally keep you making money. There is zero capacity if equipment is down. Talk to them frequently, listen and figure what preventative measures, critical spares, etc. should be in place.

The concept of internal customer service is often non-existent. Emphasis on the importance of treating the people around you as your customer can really help. Also, maintenance personnel is often labeled as the “Primadonnas”at work, which is simply not fair. They are skilled workers and should be treated and paid as such.
