Vary the content of the project to include the other activities of Programming Projects. These might include presentations at each major point, including regimental structure to each one (for discipline). And each person presents, even if it's just the intro. Embed these actions into the remit of the project and give distinct marks for these non-programming tasks, such as scrum master etc.

When the team is supportive, I think throwing people into real life problems with new programming language helps a lot. You can learn, grow, and adapt the best practices while actually solving real life problems. I don't think, any other way helps learning a new language more that solving real life problems.

Have knowledge sharing sessions within the team. Make sure every team member actively participates. Assign topics to team members and let them explore and study about it and share that knowledge with the entire team, this way every one learns and the team would know whom to contact in case of technical help needed on any topic.

In my experience, learning platforms such as udemy and others help provide quality learning content to always push for more knowledge. Having accounts on these platforms for team members to learn and grow is very beneficial.
