One of the main benefits of online presentation tools is that they offer flexibility and accessibility. You can create and edit your presentation from any device, anywhere, as long as you have an internet connection. You can also access your presentation from different platforms, such as web browsers, mobile apps, or desktop software. This means you can easily collaborate with others, update your content, and adapt to different situations.
-
Be aware that if you move from online to offline and back again, your layout can change. So keep checking that your slides look ok and if you have animation that it all still works.
Another advantage of online presentation tools is that they can help you make your presentation more interactive and engaging. You can use features such as animations, transitions, audio, video, quizzes, polls, surveys, and live chat to capture your audience's attention and feedback. You can also embed your presentation on your website, blog, or social media, or share it via email or link. This can increase your reach and impact, as well as generate leads and conversions.
-
It is absolutely essential in the world of virtual presentations that you do everything you can to make it more interactive and engaging. That's why breakout rooms, polls, and more will help you stand out in a sea of cameras turned off. Don't just make slides, structure the interactive element as a key part of your presentation.
Online presentation tools can also improve the quality and design of your presentation. You can choose from a variety of templates, themes, fonts, colors, and images that suit your purpose and style. You can also customize your presentation to fit your brand identity and audience preferences. You can also use tools such as charts, graphs, diagrams, icons, and infographics to visualize your data and information. These can help you convey your message clearly and effectively.
-
I'll be honest. I often would stall changing the quality and design of my slides because I get so used to them. But I've learned to adapt and evolve and most importantly, get someone's feedback or a professional to review and suggest changes.
However, online presentation tools also have some disadvantages that you should consider. One of them is reliability and security. You depend on the internet connection and the performance of the online platform to deliver your presentation smoothly and without interruptions. If the connection is slow or unstable, or the platform is down or hacked, you may experience delays, glitches, or errors. You also need to ensure that your presentation is protected from unauthorized access, copying, or editing.
-
I always have an offline back up at hand and make sure that if it is an important presentation, someone else has an offline copy too. So if something happens with my version, someone else can show the slides on my behalf. I learned this the hard way years ago when my presentation only showed red crosses and I had no back up. (this was pre online options). Frustrating lesson to learn!
Another drawback of online presentation tools is compatibility and compatibility. You may encounter issues with the compatibility of your presentation with different devices, browsers, operating systems, or formats. For example, some features or elements may not work or display properly on some devices or browsers, or your presentation may not be compatible with the software or hardware of your audience or host. You may also face challenges with the compatibility of your presentation with your content and objectives. For example, some online presentation tools may not support the type or amount of content you want to include, or the level of interactivity or customization you need.
Finally, online presentation tools may also have a learning curve and a cost. You may need to spend some time and effort to learn how to use the online platform and its features. You may also need to upgrade your skills and knowledge to keep up with the latest trends and innovations. Moreover, you may need to pay for the online platform and its services, such as storage, bandwidth, support, or premium features. You may also need to invest in additional equipment or software to enhance your presentation.
-
Dependency on the internet The online tools and software are highly dependent on a good internet connection. Sometimes they give bloopers in low connectivity issues. The graphics elements such as animations or video clips might not be displayed during presentation in this case.
-
Bandwidth may not be sufficient which may result in poor performance. Security breach can be present. License cost may be very high. Moreover if it's a physical product the look and feel cannot be simulated.
