Some programmers think that they have to choose one paradigm and stick to it throughout their career or project. They may believe that switching paradigms is too confusing, inefficient, or risky. However, this is not true. In fact, most programming languages support multiple paradigms, and you can use them in combination to achieve different goals. For example, you can use object-oriented programming to model complex entities and relationships, functional programming to write pure and concise functions, and imperative programming to control the flow of execution. By using the right paradigm for the right task, you can leverage the strengths of each one and avoid the pitfalls of the others.

In my experience, mid sized to big companies usually work with different languages to perform different tasks. As a consequence, we need to adapt to multiple paradigms taking place in the same codebase or in multiple codebases that interact with each other. Modern languages are in general multi paradigm and concepts as map-reduce, list comprehension and closures have been used alongside with oriented object code without a second thought for years now.

I kinda disagree with using different paradigm then your team on a single project, or single module. So using different paradigm in a single module, changes the way a reader would interpret the code. And it’s become somewhat hard to understand. Code should always be easy to understand, if a reader has to switch context between paradigm that could create confusion.

As far as I’ve seen, paradigm is the thing which seems to be most underrated in technical discussion. Whereas knowledge of paradigm helps to sync with any team easy, as once you understand a paradigm, and if rules are properly followed in a module for the same, it would be easy for you to understand the logic, and add contribution of your own.
