De entre todos los programas de 3D, me suelo quedar con Rhinoceros. Puede trabajar con mallas pero también con NURBS (Non Uniform Rational Based Surfaces) y tiene muchísima potencia y precisión. Además, si manejas AutoCAD, ya tienes parte de Rhinoceros aprendido, pues muchos comandos son similares. Sketchup tiene una curva de aprendizaje muy rápida, pero creo que Rhinoceros da una mayor sensación de control. Puedes descargar gratuitamente la beta de Rhino 8 o usar una versión de prueba de Rhino 7; los propios tutoriales que vienen incluidos te ayudarán a aprender muy rápidamente. ?No olvides la ayuda de comandos, viene con un ejemplo en vídeo para prácticamente cada una de las órdenes de Rhino!

Los programas de renderizado siempre se han dividido en dos grandes bloques: unbiased (simulación de iluminación física real) y biased (simulación con atajos matemáticos). La primera es mucho más precisa, con menos parámetros, pero más lenta. La segunda es mucho más rápida, pero más compleja y con más parámetros a controlar. Con la llegada de las tarjetas gráficas potentes, aparecen motores como Unreal, Twinmotion, Lumion o D5 (por mencionar unos pocos relacionados con la arquitectura) que trabajan en tiempo real, sacrificando un poco la precisión y exactitud de reflexiones o sombras, pero logrando una inmersión absoluta. Y ahora, con la llegada de Raytrace a todos ellos, volvemos a una precisión mucho mayor. Pruébalos, te sorprenderán.

Tanto para gráficos 3D como para proyectos, puedes hacer revisiones online colaborativas en varias plataformas. Una de ellas es el visor online gratuito de Autodesk, donde tienes la posibilidad de hacer anotaciones, escribir comentarios, dibujar formas y demás. Otra, aunque quizá más limitada, es el uso de programas como Autodesk Design Review, que mediante el formato DWF (es como el PDF de Autodesk) a?ade esa misma "capa" de información y anotaciones: de hecho, es posible importar un DWF en programas como AutoCAD o Revit, y ver esos comentarios directamente sobre tu programa de trabajo. Son opciones novedosas (aunque Autodesk Design Review lleva mucho tiempo en el mercado) que vale la pena estudiar y valorar.
