Digital transformation in my experience, cannot be successfully undertaken - until our customers know exactly what they have within their IT & Technology estate, but also the interdependencies......how is everything connected, what treatment from both a technology standpoint & people/process viewpoint needs to happen to successfully transform the customer to their desired end state. A famous quote from John Steinbeck summarises the above for us perfectly......to find where you are going, you must first know where you are” John Steinbeck. Once your customer knows where they are & what they have, we can begin to define a clear Roadmap encompassing people, process & technology for successful change.

Business development is key in growing value for customers and the organization. it creates the opportunity to have direct interaction with clients , understanding their needs and providing solution. digital transformation is key in moving the business forward by having an open mindset, embrace change and being customer centric. customer obsession is also key in driving the right attitude such as innovate quickly, putting customer first and getting it right the first time.

(Based on my experience) Many trends can be used, but here are what I tried to exploit. A. Embrace Data-Driven Decision Making: Use data analytics to gain insights and inform my business development decisions. B. Harness the Power of Artificial Intelligence (AI): Implement AI-powered tools for lead generation, customer profiling, and sales forecasting. C. Explore Immersive Technologies: Utilize AR for product demonstrations and VR for immersive customer experiences...etc. D. Prioritize Customer Relationships: Focus on building long-lasting customer relationships through personalized interactions. E. Embrace Social Selling and Online Networking: Leverage social media platforms to connect with potential clients, partners, and influencers.

Business development professionals should consider this a reminder to continuously adapt and learn in their roles. The combination of AI and online communities can be a game-changer. In my experience, people in this field can be successful with a good understanding of the general market and how their product/ service fits in it, and most importantly how it does not. However, I’m convinced that a true growth catalyst requires extensive soft skills, dilligence, business acumen and drive. Prioritize is key to make the most of what you have, and have different goals as areas in the company. What your client define as growth might look quite different to companies management. As Business Development professional you should never leave things to chance and lost in translation. Short, medium and long term goals, with realistic expectations is crucial to your team and business health.

The first and foremost importance should be given to AI in my opinion. Ensure to utilize AI and machine learning to analyze data, automate routine tasks, and gain insights into customer behavior. AI can enhance decision-making and improve efficiency a lot. To effectively leverage any new trends, it's important to conduct thorough market research, have a proper SWOT analysis, and adapt the business development strategies accordingly. One has to stay flexible and agile in responding to emerging trends to remain competitive and foster growth.
