"Project Management" is an exciting domain dealing with multidisciplinary teams of persons in execution of any project. Project management centers around "Budget, Schedule and Scope of Work". These three nodes are interactive that any change in one will invariably affect the two others. Paradoxically, "scope of work" is rarely well defined and documented. Customer or the project owner gets "educated" during the process of project progress and asks for changes in the "scope of work" that elongates schedule and budget!

My company's slogan is "Humans at the heart of ocean sustainability", because we activate the people who will make/live the change, even if we think that the environment is the center of our attention. Often users of the sea are not decision makers, but they have (1) tremendous knowledge (2) a vested interest (3) a deep impact on ocean conservation, and (4) are heavily influenced by environmental policies. And THAT is why there should be engagement.

From my experience it is clear that poverty alleviation, climate change, gender mainstreaming and social inclusion are all inextricable interlinked and inter connected to realize sustainable development.
