There is a high probability that machine learning / artificial intelligence will completely change our way of life and the way we do things in the next few years. To ensure you are employable and in demand, it's important to keep pace with the important changes in the industry. Noting that some are a passing phase, whilst others will be around for the next 10,20+ years. Align yourself with the big changes you can see, like Zero Trust, ML/AL, quantum computing, etc. But to do this you need well established computer, networking, coding, fundamental knowledge. So invest the time in becoming an expert in what we have, all while building knowledge for what we need.

I started as developer however I always worked on offensive security on side personal projects. Years after years I moved toward infosec. I had roles in application security, SDLC, risk management, CERT, etc.) It's only when I found how to make a living of my passion for research and offensive security that I was truly happy at work and did not have to do side projects anymore. What used to be my side project is now my company. You spend hours at work everyday, infosec is one of those fields where your job can also be your passion.

Infosec is a broad field and have a lot of different roles and opportunities. If you really like it you will find a role that you can use your skills and do what you enjoy. There are a lot of opportunities for technical stuff and also non-technical. So if you don't like programming for example, there are still different roles in Infosec that you can contribute and have fun :D

I'd never miss building my social network (in person and online). That is, know your boundaries, your motivation, your own unique perspectives (what makes you different from others or what's your vision), or simply know yourself (yes, this is what I want).
