1 Select and edit objects

One of the most basic and essential keyboard shortcuts in InDesign is the V key, which activates the Selection tool. The Selection tool allows you to select and move objects on your document, such as text frames, images, shapes, and graphics. You can also use the Shift key to select multiple objects, or the Alt key to duplicate objects while dragging them. Press cmd + N. This will likely be the first command you'll use when opening Adobe InDesign, as it's how you create a new document. Use the shortcut Shift + cmd + P to add a new page to your document.

2 Navigate and zoom

Another keyboard shortcut that can improve your workflow in InDesign is the Spacebar, which activates the Hand tool.
