What are the most effective ways to overcome fear of cold calling?

One of the best ways I have found ways of overcoming the fear of cold calling is by always being organized, and being on time, and the last best way for me is by being informative with your day-to-day workload. I find it calming for me to have the tasks of cold calling organized having all of my scripts, and notes, and making sure I have my essentials around me. Being on time makes a huge difference in overcoming the fear of cold calling. I like to be just about 30 to 45 minutes earlier to work to prepare my mind, and body. I make it best to have a permanent way of thinking to always remember no matter what, you have to stay and keep calm, and not match the caller's tone or behavior as that's not professional.

Antes de ningún guión es necesario poner en modo de batalla a los equipos. En el mundo actual, las llamadas a puerta fría son cada vez más difíciles ya que el público objetivo está ya demasiado profesionalizado. Eso implica que socialmente esta práctica se vea como algo negativo. Por ese motivo, el primer paso es lograr hacer que tus equipos entiendan que por muchas malas contestaciones que se lleven localizarán siempre algún cliente al que le solucionen la vida con el producto que ofrecen. Una vez cumplida esa primera parte motivacional, efectivamente, llega el momento de tener un guión con un saludo potente, con un amplio abanico de posibles abordamientos, con un aún más amplio abanico de contra objeciones.

La práctica previa a arrancar las llamadas en frío será fundamental para entrenar especialmente el tono y el saludo inicial para que la puerta del cliente potencial no se nos cierre de golpe. Un indispensable de la práctica son los role play. practicar en voz alta ayuda a ver esos peque?os matices que el cerebro obvia cuando la llamada no pasa del nivel imaginación, del interior del cerebro.

If fear is your main issue when doing cold calls, don't fall into the trap of over-researching pre-call. Try to decide on what the minimal amount of research needed looks like and don't go past that. Ex if you sell recruiting software, all you really need to know is, who am I calling/ what is he responsible for, do they have hiring needs (or triggers like funding) and that's probably already good enough. Also, try to batch your research and then plan a call block of 1-2 hours to just call. Get uncomfortable and it will get better over time.

Here's the truth, you'll probably never truly love cold calls. You won't one day wake up and just want to do them. For most of us, that's just not reality. But you do need them, to this day they're one of the best and fastest way to interact with leads/ prospects. So how do you get over the hate/ fear of doing them? Exposure therapy. And I wish there was a fun way/ hack you could do that would just drop your fear but that just doesn't exist. You just have to start doing them while being scared. That's what courage is, doing something while being scared. So don't try to fight the fear or look for ways to not be scared anymore, just do it scared. And although you will probably never fall in love with them, it will get better over time.
